COLUMBUS – Josh Mandel launched his campaign for U.S. Senate today with a pledge to continue the historic national movement underway to shake up Washington. Mandel’s Pearl Harbor Day launch coincides with the 75th Anniversary of the December 7, 1941, attacks on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, that led to the U.S. involvement in World War II. AKRON – Tom Zawistowski, President of the We the People Convention, today announced his organization’s support of Jane Timken’s intention to replace embattled Ohio Republican Party State Chairman Matt Borges who is up for re-election in January of 2017.
In a strongly worded letter sent today (copied below) to Ohio Republican State Central Committee members, Timken said; “Several members of the committee have shared with me their serious concerns about the leadership of our party. The relationship between the ORP and the President-elect’s campaign was very publicly divisive. Last week I spoke with President-elect Trump and he agrees that it is time for a leadership change at the ORP.” Continue reading
COLUMBUS—December 2, 2016—The five-person committee that filed petitions to place the Libertarian presidential ticket of Gary Johnson and William Weld on the November ballot in Ohio filed paperwork with the office of Secretary of State Jon Husted claiming party status and ballot access for the next four years.
The five committee members, all currently members of the LPO’s Central Committee, are requesting identification of the party as “Libertarian” and an immediate response to allow the party to place candidates on the Ohio primary ballot in 2017 in those jurisdictions in which odd-year elections are partisan. Over the weekend, the Trump campaign Ohio State director, Robert Paduchik, notified Ohio GOP State Central Committee members that the Trump campaign had enough of Chairman Borges’s duplicity and are cutting off its relationship with him. CLICK HERE
This order came directly from Trump after months of not only lackluster support from the Ohio GOP, but at times seeming to sabotage of the Trump campaign by the Chairman of Ohio’s Republican Party, Matt Borges.

Do NOT allow this election to drive a wedge between us. I recently received a message from a person who’ve I’ve worked with, and I was deeply hurt by the language and content regarding my character , because I’m supporting Trump. This person would proudly identify themselves as a NeverTrumper,
In the past, I’ve warned groups and leaders to not allow this election to drive a wedge into relationships. If we survive, we’ll need to work together in the future. Both parties sit back quietly and applaud when they see us fight among each other, and break off our relationships. Lets not destroy these relationships over something we have no control over.

Marion County GOP Chairman John Matthews was fired from his state job late Thursday following the release of an Investigation report from Ohio’s “Office of the Inspector General”.
On December 1, 2015, the Office of the Ohio Inspector General received an anonymous complaint alleging that Industrial Commission of Ohio (ICO) Director of Claims Support John Matthews “… spends his workday sleeping and fundraising for the Kasich campaign.” On December 11, 2015, the Office of the Ohio Inspector General forwarded this allegation to the ICO for an administrative review.
